This last TED Talk lunch revealed a theme, which boiled down to this: be present.
Here’s a recap of what we watched:
Louie Schwartzberg: Nature. Beauty. Gratitude.
The film we watch as part of this talk is narrated by Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast. Our very own Vincent attended a conference years ago in California with Brother Steindl-Rast! I need to ask Vincent more about this – maybe on his next tree walk. Hey, that really goes along with what Mr. Schwartzberg is getting at. Well done, Vincent! Well done.
Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work
Fast talking, for sure, but entertaining and right on the money! I really enjoyed this talk, but I think I’ll watch it again. I’m sure to catch more the second time around.
Andy Puddicombe: All it takes is 10 mindful minutes
I was rather hoping for some real action items out of this. Maybe because we’d just watched 2 other talks on the same theme, I didn’t feel that I got anything new. Not often you get to see a monk juggle though.
I’m always looking for more TED Talk suggestions. Please feel free to post below!
