Self-care is always important, but even more so during these challenging times. Every Wednesday, we share a dose of wellness inspiration to keep you feeling strong in mind, body, and soul. #wellnesswednesdays

Physical distancing doesn’t mean you have to be socially isolated! Keeping social connections is vital for yourwell-being, especially when you can’t meet up in person. Give family members a call, video chat with your friends or form an online study group to keep your connections strong.
Another great way to connect is Virtual Coffee at the new online Global Community Conversation Café! The global community advisers will be hosting virtual meet ups each week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It’s a great way to meet new people, participate in fun games and challenges, and more.

The nursing team at Health Services offers #wellnesswednesday check-ins for UVic students. It’s a chance to connect, ask health questions and find resources by phone or video chat.
Wellness Wednesday check-ins allow you to:
- Ask about any health questions or concerns you might have
- Get sleep tips and sleep hygiene strategies
- Learn ways to deal with anxiety and stress
- Get connected with resources on- and off-campus
- Ask questions about COVID-19
- Check-in and connect
You can have a check in weekly, every couple weeks or once a month—talk to a nurse about what will work for you.
Email nurse@uvic.ca or call 250-721-8492 (dial 4) to arrange a check-in.

Getting regular exercise is important for your mental and physical health, especially as we are all spending more time at home. It can help reduce feelings of depression and anxiety, improve your sleep and decrease your risk for diseases like diabetes and cancer.
Ensure you are taking time for yourself, whether it’s a walk around the block, a jog through the trails or a home workout with a virtual class.
♥️Take care of you.♥️
