Dr. Wicki-Stordeur completed her BSc in Biochemistry (Honours) and PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Victoria, where she studied the role the Pannexin 1 protein plays in neural precursor cell behaviours. She then moved on to train as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Dr. Brian MacVicar’s laboratory at the University of British Columbia (2016-2021), where her research led her to investigate a novel molecular mechanism underlying astrocyte calcium signalling. Dr. Wicki-Stordeur joined the Swayne Lab as a Research Associate in 2022. She is currently involved in several projects, including understanding the molecular underpinnings of dendritic spine maturation and stability, and investigating the impact of COVID-19 on the brain, among others. Outside of the lab, Dr. Wicki-Stordeur enjoys hiking, reading, cooking/baking, and spending time with her children, husband, dog, and extended family.
