“The specific aim of this project is to develop the climate change adaptation scale (CCAS), a reliable, validated questionnaire to quantify individuals’ tendency to engage in climate change adaptation”
The Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) defines climate change adaptation as “the process of adjustment to actual or expected climate and its effects”. In human systems, adaptation seeks to moderate or avoid harm or exploit beneficial opportunities.
The CCAS will help increase the research focus on an emerging area of climate change adaptation and provide a useful tool for not only researchers but also practitioners and policymakers to avoid harm and exploit beneficial opportunities.
