University can seem like an unhealthy lifestyle when you think about it.
You go to school, you study all night for exams, your dinner will probably often consist of ramen noodles and you may not have as much time as you hoped to exercise.
Although this lifestyle can be common during exam period and during tough weeks at school it is important to have relaxation days.
After a tough week I usually take at least one day where I don’t do anything school related and do something that makes me happy. Here are some tips for what you can do on your no-school days while in university.
1) Make yourself a healthy and delicious meal or grab a meal to go at Felicitas.
2) Go for a walk on Dallas road – (its a great place to go if you’re a dog lover too).
3) Go to Cinecenta and watch a movie.
4) Spend the day with friends.
5) Catch up on everything you’ve been too busy to do: laundry, dishes, Skype dates.
6) Go to an event that you normally wouldn’t have time to go to. Check out UVic events here.
7) Most importantly, catch up on some sleep!
If you spend your no-school day or no-school weekend doing these things you’ll feel refreshed for the following weeks to come until the next time. Taking time for yourself in a hectic schedule can promote mental health by reducing stress!
