About Me

My name is Jack Britton, and I am in third year at the University of
Victoria. I am majoring in geography with a minor in environmental studies. I am passionate about the environment and the outdoors. Throughout my studies at UVic I have learned a lot about the impacts of climate change and how we can mitigate the effects. I spend a lot of my free time in the outdoors so I feel as a deep connection, and a responsibility to protect it as best I can.

I have learned many skills throughout my academic career that I will be able to use in the future. One of the most valuable skills I have learned in my time at UVic is effective team work. Group projects teach you a lot about how other people work and gives you a better understanding of group dynamics. Learning how to motivate people, delegate time/ jobs, and work as a group, are all extremely valuable skills. I plan to pursue Wildland Firefighting as a career and working well as a team is crucial to my own, as well as my team’s success.
