A shipwright by trade, 27 years old, born May 22, 1892 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Fraser Maclachlan. Attended school in Utah, in London, Ontario and MacLeod, Alberta. The Colonist noted “delegations from the Victoria and Queen City Chapters of the I.O.D.E. [Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire], Daughters of the Nile and the Order of Eastern Star. A firing party under Sergeant Hale was supplied from Signal Hill, and the band attended from Willows Camp. The casket, covered with the Union Jack, besides many beautiful floral tributes, was conveyed to Ross Bay Cemetery on a gun-carriage.” The pallbearers were Gunners A. H. Wilson, A. G. Harvey, A. B. Carson, W. Jull, A. W. Small, W. H. Fletcher.
