Lab safety course – optional but a great option if you are planning to apply to lab based co-op jobs<\/span><\/h2>\n

Safety first!<\/span><\/h2>\n

Throughout your time with Co-op you may be exposed to workplace environments and materials that have the potential to cause harm if you are not adequately prepared.<\/span><\/p>\n

To best support a safe Co-op (and beyond!) experience, you can complete an optional course in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS).<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a free, not-for-credit, online course.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Complete the Training

    1. Click\u00a0Register\u00a0<\/strong>to start.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Work through the\u00a0WHMIS Training Module<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. After working through the module, complete the\u00a0WHMIS\u00a0<\/strong>Training Quiz<\/strong>. You have 3 attempts.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Once you have scored 80% on the Quiz, log in to Learning Central<\/a>\u00a0and Collect your certificate.\u00a0<\/strong>Your certificate of completion will be emailed to you.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

I highly encourage others to do the same.\r\n\r\nOnline courses that are designed to help life science professionals make strategic business decisions, navigate important regulatory hurdles, and move healthcare products from the bench to the bedside.\r\n\r\nLearn more about common certifications as well as how you can get them on the Co-op website<\/a>.
