“Networking is not about just connecting people. It’s about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with
opportunities.” – Michele Jannae
Grow your professional network: meet with local STEM clubs, academic recruiters, industry representatives, and STEM-focused organizations in Canada at our upcoming career networking evening. This event, an integral part of the science communication conference, provides a platform to learn about potential opportunities and make meaningful connections with potential mentors and recruiters.
We’ll be meeting on Zoom and using breakout rooms for networking between attendees and presenters. Each room will be hosted by a presenter representing an organization or a recruiter, and attendees can manually move in between breakout rooms allowing them to have an opportunity to chat with all the presenters. We will be releasing presenter information close to the event, so you have ample time to prepare your questions beforehand.
This event was created for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, People Of Color (BIPOC) individuals who face barriers to accessing networking opportunities or establishing professional networks. To further our goal of supporting those under-represented in STEM, we invite attendees who identify as BIPOC individuals to register for the Career Networking event on March 17, 2022, from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm. However, framing of the event as a BIPOC community networking space does not restrict you to be a part of the networking evening if you do not identify as a BIPOC person. We encourage everyone to register. For more details on the registration, checkout the registration tab.
