Welcome to the 2022 Science Communication Conference!

The inaugural Science Communication Conference will be held virtually via Zoom on March 17-18, 2022! Register today!

This conference is unique and aims to provide Black, Indigenous, People Of Color (BIPOC) or visible minority students, early career scientists, faculty, staff and researchers with critical science communication skills. This event is funded by the NSERC Science Communication Skills (promo) Grant and is designed to help the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines with networking and professional development opportunities to support their long-term goals in STEM.

The conference workshops, sessions, panel discussion, and keynote will leverage the unique voices and lived experiences of BIPOC or visible minority speakers.

The purpose of this conference is to bring together science communicators, journalists, educators, researchers who will share and inspire the next generation of BIPOC or visible minority students, early career researchers, faculty, and staff to pursue diverse careers in science communication and engage with diverse communities. We hope this conference allows decision-makers to reflect on practical approaches to creating pathways for BIPOC or visible minority individuals in STEM disciplines.
