UVic’s Dr. Deborah Curran was quoted in a recent article for The Hamilton Spectator. The piece discusses the environmental damage to nearby ecosystems and Wet’suwet’en territory caused by snow melt sweeping sediment from Coastal GasLink pipeline’s construction site. In the article, Dr. Curran is quoted discussing the role of the BC Energy Regulator agency in facilitating the oil and gas industry.

Dr. Curran is not only associated with the Faculty of Law and the School of Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, but is also the Executive Director of UVic’s Environmental Law Centre. Dr. Curran’s research centers primarily around water laws and regional sustainability.
