6G Challenges

6G is ubiquitous to cover all lands including rural, remote land or island, and depopulated zones. It will also have the coverage above and under water, which corresponding to 70% of the earth surface. Furthermore, 6G will exploit the altitude dimension, with air and space coverage using UAV, drone, balloon, LEO, MEO, GEO, etc.

6G will support human-cyber-physical interactions, enabling numerous new applications with stringent QoS requirements

6G will support *-cast, including point to multi-point Multicast/broadcast, multipoint-to-point incast, Multipoint-to-multipoint (groupcast). Here, we use a wild-card “*” represent any type of cast.

6G will be intelligent. Traditional Internet provides end-to-end data pipeline services.  In 6G, we anticipate that the network will incorporate communications with sensing, storage and computing functions, becoming a large-scale distributed systems supporting ubiquitous intelligence.
