Appeal <\/em><\/a>is a double-blind, peer-reviewed law journal published through the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada). Appeal<\/em> publishes articles, case commentaries, and book reviews that offer insightful commentary on Canadian and comparative law. This law journal also promotes legal scholarship in its political, philosophical, and social contexts. Appeal is student-run, and its Editorial Board aims to publish primarily student compositions.<\/p>\n

THE ARBUTUS REVIEW (Discontinued)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Arbutus Review<\/em><\/a> is an annual peer-reviewed compilation of outstanding research papers\/articles submitted by undergraduate students from all disciplines at the University of Victoria. It provides a forum for the best researchers to showcase their work to their fellow students, the campus community, high schools, funding agencies and corporations\/organizations about the strength of student researchers.<\/p>\n

The journal is currently “on hiatus” for 2024-25, pending the recommendations of a redesign taskforce. As such, the editorial board is not accepting submissions at this time.<\/p>\n

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE BEST BUSINESS RESEARCH PAPERS ARCHIVE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Students play a key role to supporting and improving business and management research at the Gustavson School of Business. International Business Research (COM 470) gave students who went on international exchange an opportunity to develop their research and writing skills by analyzing a business issue that related to an international site location. They explored a topic of their choosing, reporting on a phenomenon that affected the entire country or region. Or, they focused on a specific issue that pertains to a particular private, public or not-for-profit organization. The best papers from this course were showcased annually in a publication entitled Bachelor of Commerce Best Business Research Papers<\/em><\/a> between 2008 and 2020.<\/p>\n

ECORESTORATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ecorestoration: RNS Technical Series<\/em><\/a> publishes the papers submitted by Restoration of Natural Systems ER 390\/400 students. These papers are the result of a capstone project that involves a real restoration project in partnership with a community group, government department or industry partner. Each project involves approximately 100 hours of work and the collection of a significant amount of new data.<\/p>\n

The International Journal of Social Studies Review<\/i> (IjSSr)<\/a> was focused on supporting participatory critical social studies education in aid of peace, and social, political, environmental, economic, and cultural justice. The IjSSr believed all Social Studies education was political and that teaching and learning should have been practiced as moral and ethical interventions in the world. The IjSSr was dedicated to publishing articles that challenged the conventional and popular construction and delivery of Social Studies education that stressed the “sage on the stage” banking model of education. Social Studies was seen as an art, where the heart met the mind.<\/p>\n

SOPHIA

Sophia<\/em><\/a> is a non-profit journal, first published in 1998, intended to provide a forum for undergraduate students to exhibit the toils of their undergraduate years. Published by students at the University of Victoria, Sophia<\/em> provides the opportunity for students at UVic, as well as universities and colleges aroudn the world, to present philosophical thought, aiming at fostering an environment encouraging philosophical discourse, debate, and contemplation.<\/p>\n
