This email looked like it came from “uvic.ca <email_server@uvic.ca>” but that sender information was spoofed; the email was actually external in origin. Like many phishing emails, it tries to instill a false sense of urgency to get you to click the link in haste. However, if you hover over the link, you’ll see the links don’t go to UVic. The many capitalization errors in this email are also a sign it isn’t legitimate.<\/p>\n
