Pedagogical Explorations began in January 2011 when Dr. Veronica Pacini-Ketchabaw and B. Denise Hodgins joined UVic Child Care Services’ team. Veronica was the lead pedagogist (someone who is an educational theory specialist and pedagogical leader) and Principal research Investigator in this work from 2011-2016. Denise became lead pedagogist and Principal research Investigator in September 2016-August 2024. Narda Nelson is in her 11th year working with the CCS educational team as Lead Pedagogist and Principal Research Investigator. Past Pedagogists and Co-Researchers include Kirsten Ho, Vanessa Clark, and Nicole Land.
Many UVic CCS educators, staff, and pedagogists (past and present) are members of the international Common World Childhoods Research Collective. We are also part of the Canadian-based Early Childhood Pedagogies Collaboratory and the international Climate Action Childhood Network.
