“I don’t understand it” (L’Engle, 1962) Quote of the Day

  1. I can see the correlation between the quote from Billy-Ray Belcourt and the Wrinkle in Time quote. I often feel that I am the tamarack tree and the wind.
Often times I may have not understood what it meant to be the tamarack tree (I did not know what the tamarack tree is used for until I looked it up) and the wind or had answers for it to be ‘worth’ experiencing, talking, thinking and being with. We cannot know everything; we are not expert of what it means to live a worthwhile life. If our truths create our knowledge – do we not have the responsibility to question where our truths come from? How it came to be? How was it deemed knowledge? Often I find that I ‘understand’ something when I have more questions than answers.
Sylvia Kind in Material Encounters shares:
“Nothing is static’ the world is full of movements with different rhythms and intensities. Things move, bodies move, materials move. Life is filled with movements, motions, new becomings and emergencies. Movement opens up possibilities and potentialities. Brian Massumi (2002) reminds us that it is measurement that brings movement to a still.”

    Thank you Narda for sharing!
