
Meike Wernicke is a settler scholar and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia. Her research centers on French language teacher professionalization and teacher identity in minority language contexts with research interests in bi-/multilingual language policy, critical intercultural studies, and discourse analytic research methodologies. Her current research projects focus on teacher retention and mentorship, supporting language revitalization efforts in French language education and developing critical intercultural engagement among second language teachers.
