Our History

The Holy Week of Pi has been an ECSS tradition since 1993, when the event was bluntly named “Cream Pie a Friend For Charity.” Once rebranded as The Order of Pi in 1995, the event transformed into more of a spectale than a charity drive, as decsribed by our ancient text (the Book of Pi) below:

“8 Monk robes were constructed, the Pithagorean chant music was composed, and Victorians had their first contact with a mysterious order of medieval monks whose obsession with the Greek letter Pi was matched only by their devotion to their Monty Pythonesque version of the Spanish Inquisition.”

The Order has evolved a lot in 30 years, but the core philosophy of committment remains. We operate strictly by the 6 Commandments of Pi, exhibit constant pious behaviour, and uphold an aura of mystery.
