The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/education\/\">United Nations<\/a>\u00a0have identified Open Education as a critical component to quality education and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.unesco.org\/themes\/ict-education\/oer\">UNESCO<\/a> believes universal access to high-quality education contributes to peace, sustainable social and economic development, and intercultural dialogue. Through the Open Hub, our goal is to support creation, access, reuse, and redistribution of open educational resources (OER) and the innovative pedagogical practices they can enable. OER and open research can also replace expensive commercial textbooks and resources, some of which are not culturally inclusive. Our students and the public, both locally and internationally, will benefit from universal access to quality education.
