About Me!

I am a fourth-year BA student majoring in Geography with a concentration in Urban, Health, and Environment. I have a strong interest in urban planning and making our cities sustainable and resilient.

When I first enrolled at UVIC I was unsure of where I belonged academically. I had many interests including working with children, the environment, and technology. Although, I struggled to fit these interests into a field of study. After taking a first-year Geography course this all changed. I found a discipline where I felt like I could belong. Over the past four years, I have discovered a passion for urban planning. I was able to complete a co-op with the City of Abbotsford in the planning department after my third year of study. This co-op allowed me to gain valuable knowledge within the urban planning field and confirmed my career direction. Since then I have been focusing my courses on human geography and planning. Courses like Urban Mobility, Sustainable Cities, and Space, Place, and Urban Design have been some of my favourites. After I finish my degree I plan to apply for my Masters in Urban Planning.
