Early this academic year she took the lead in coordinating existing student positions in the department to form a more cohesive and unified voice for graduate students. In her role as co-president of the Psychology Graduate Student Council (PGSC), Liz has been incredibly effective at organizing the graduate students, and has spearheaded numerous department-wide student meetings both for establishing the council but also to facilitate feedback on both the external department review and the open faculty position. She accomplished this with little existing supports and spent a great deal of time and effort reaching out to students across various streams and at various points in their degree progress. Liz has lead by example in promoting a professional, action-oriented setting and has inspired other students to be engaged in the decisions affecting their student experience. This has been reflected in the diverse contributions of students and other council members to various initiatives in which they may not have otherwise felt comfortable to volunteer.”<\/p>\n
