This is such a busy season on these territories that there are more events popping up to round out \u0106ENHENEN (ends 17 Aug) and to get us started in a good way for \u0106EN\u0166\u00c1WEN (17 Aug – 15 Sept). A pair in Songhees with Cheryl Bryce (l\u0259k\u0313\u02b7\u0259\u014b\u0259n), and one with \u015aW\u0331,XELOSELWET Tiffany Joseph (W\u0331S\u00c1NE\u0106).<\/p>\n

For all of the below events<\/span>: There will be snacks, but bring a lunch, your \u00cdY,\u015a\u1e30\u00c1LE\u023bENS (good feelings & intentions), water, maybe a hat, and some decent footwear. Gloves and tools will be provided, if you have gloves, snippers, a hori hori knife, then please bring them along.<\/p>\n

Songhees Restoration<\/u>\u00a0 \u00a0 Friday 11 August 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

THIS FRIDAY<\/b> (11 Aug) join Cheryl Bryce<\/strong> and the Lekwungen Community Toolshed<\/a> are inviting volunteers to join them and the HAT<\/a> Field Crew at Maple Bank Rd<\/a> from 9am – Noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u0106<\/strong>EN\u0166\u00c1WEN New Moon Restoration Event<\/span><\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Thursday 17 August 2023<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Join Tiffany Joseph<\/a><\/strong> and HAT to bring in the new moon at S\u1e48ID\u023bE\u023d \u0166I\u0166EL S\u1e48\u00c1NET<\/strong><\/a> (Oak Haven Park) in Saanich from 10am-4pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The day will include a circle, introduction from Tiffany who will also share some of her knowledge and experience of this place, the importance of the new moon, and some of her plant knowledge. We’ll then pull some invasive species to give native species better chance to grow, and then close in a good way with another circle.<\/p>\n

\nPEP\u00c1\u1e34E\u1e48 H\u00c1UTW\u0331<\/a> will be hosting another weekend restoration day at S\u1e48ID\u023bE\u023d<\/a>\u00a0Saturday Aug 19 <\/strong>from 10am-2pm<\/strong> (bring water and a lunch).<\/p>\n

This event is part of a series of restoration work that Cheryl<\/strong> is leading on the Maple Bank lands and sees some of the work began on the 11 (see above) continued. HAT will once again be supporting the Lekwungen Community Toolshed<\/strong><\/a> at Maple Bank<\/strong><\/a> from 9am-noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
