This is a guest post by Fran Blake, Coordinator, Academic Administration, at UVic Law. We appreciate your contribution, Fran!

Despite being considered by some to be a small law school; we have big connections to many parts of the world through our international exchange program.

We have university partnerships in Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Bhutan. We have had strong relationships with our partners, some for over 30 years.

Students accepted to participate in the exchange program are given the chance to go to another law school for one term and take courses that count towards their upper year requirements.

Former students who have been able to travel abroad for a term have repeatedly said going on exchange was a highlight of their time in law school. Access to unique law courses, learning about different legal systems, meeting new people, and the ability to see new places are just some of the benefits of the exchange program.

Going abroad for an entire term is a commitment, but with good preparation and organization, it can offer a wonderful opportunity to the students who are willing and able.

You can read more information about the exchange program and review some testimonials by visiting the UVIC law website.
