March 6th, 2023 from 9:00 am to 4:00pm
The Dean’s Day Event at UVic Law is an exciting and informative day for both current and incoming students. This event is specifically for students who are in receipt of an offer of admission for September 2023. The event will be split into two parts: the morning and the afternoon. In the morning, attendees will enjoy breakfast while listening to presentations from the Dean, alumni, current students, and faculty. This will be followed by a question and answer period, along with an opportunity to speak with those present one-on-one. Incoming students will find these presentations helpful in gaining insight into the philosophy and culture at UVic Law.
The afternoon will include lunch, followed by presentations about some of the unique offerings at UVic Law, including the Law Centre and experiential learning. There will also be a local scavenger hunt led by current faculty and students. Attendees can come and go as they please, though organizers would appreciate knowing which meals they will join and whether they have any food allergies.
The dress code for the event is casual, with attendees welcome to wear anything they would wear to class or work. However, it’s recommended to dress in layers, as part of the day will be spent outside. While Victoria’s weather is not typically cold, it may be chilly or rainy.
Overall, the Dean’s Day Event is a fun and informative day for anyone interested in UVic Law. The presentations and activities provide a unique opportunity to learn more about the school and its offerings, and attendees are sure to have a great time!
