As part of my final practicum with Kinship Rising, I am offering a workshop for self-identified BIPOC students based on my paper We Are Always on the Front Line, which will be published in the upcoming 2022 issue of the SCYC’s International Journal of Children, Youth and Family Studies.
Key themes: self-care vs. community care, cultural aspects of wellness, working as a healer who is still healing themselves, experiencing trauma in colonial front-line institutions.
The workshop will include hands-on meditation exercises facilitated by certified practitioner Ocean Lum. All participants will receive a medicine pouch through the mail following the workshop.
A special thanks to Kinship Rising for making this possible!
