a storytelling project envisioned, written and created by Indigenous youth in care

The amazing Youth Council (lək̓ʷəŋən homelands, Victoria BC) has again partnered with Kinship Rising on a new arts based project for youth, by youth, called INVINCIBLE, featuring stories and artwork written and designed by Indigenous youth in care.

The name of our amazing new project is INVINCIBLE: Our Voices from Care, a storytelling project by Indigenous youth in care. Invincible is a hands-on project where we collected stories and artwork from the personal lives of our Youth Council. Our goal is to share our stories with others, to create, teach and learn together. Our stories are meant to inspire other Indigenous children and youth in care and let them know that that they are not alone. We are creating stories such as graphic novels, poems, video stories, artwork about childhood memories, and cultural stories, and sharing about our experiences and the emotions we had in the foster care system.
