The research conducted within the InSPiRe lab spans data analytics, machine learning\/AI, cyber-security and privacy, software engineering, and high-tech entrepreneurship concerns.<\/p>\n
A large portion of the research that is undertaken involves industry collaborations and real-world problems that industry is seeking answers to.<\/p>\n
More specifically, a core focus on the lab across these areas of research is seeking to advanced understandings into the theory-to-practice gaps arising due to the scale and complexity of modern real-world systems and problem domains, i.e., as opposed to the innately far more limited contexts arising within traditional academic research lab settings.<\/p>\n
As such, the research targets where and why current theory breaks down when applied to the modern large-scales and complexities of the \u00a0systems modern societies critical rely.<\/p>\n
Funded research positions exist from time to time but are centred on specific industry projects and industry needs. Self-funded students may be accepted, but the undertaken project must still fall within the general InSPiRe lab scope and focus on modern real-world industry-scale systems.<\/p>\n
