Inclusive teaching methodologies revolve around the idea of acknowledging the varied viewpoints of students and appreciating their unique experiences. This underscores the importance for educators, librarians, and staff to purposefully craft approaches that not only enhance accessibility to learning but also promote active participation. Florian (2015, p. 289) defined inclusive pedagogy as an “approach to teaching and learning that supports teachers to respond to individual differences between learners but avoids the marginalization that can occur when some students are treated differently”.

Link to video: Inclusive Teaching and Learning Strategies: Culturally Responsive Techniques

Traditional approaches to education are known to center and emphasize authority, the instructors in many instances and this can further alienate students who hail from historically marginalized communities or who do not see themselves represented in the curriculum. As Watt’s (2017) states, “the goal of inclusive pedagogy is to help all students feel like a valued member of the classroom because of the unique background and perspective they bring to the experience.”  There are many strategies librarians and instructors can adapt to create an inclusive environment firstly in their classrooms but also ensure that they enhance the classroom experience for all students irrespective of their race, gender, sociopolitical or marginalized backgrounds and diverse perspectives.
["post-192","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
