The “Next-Generation” of ElevateIP starting in 2026 aims to scale successful models and maintain Canada’s innovation edge through several key objectives:
- Commercialization Support: Helping startups leverage intangible assets to compete globally and attract domestic investment.
- Service Tiers: The program will continue to provide three levels of support:
- Tier 1: IP education and awareness.
- Tier 2: Financial support for developing professional IP strategies.
- Tier 3: Subsidies for implementing those strategies, such as filing patents or trademarks.
- Performance Review: A comprehensive review of national IP performance is planned for 2025–2026 to identify further opportunities to support IP-intensive firms.
