ended up on the streets<\/span><\/p>\n

doing all kinds of things<\/span><\/p>\n

that saddens me – my son\u2019s now 17<\/span><\/p>\n

and he doesn\u2019t even know how to skip a rock<\/span><\/p>\n

we\u2019re Cree<\/span><\/p>\n

they call us \u201cthe people who crossed the mountains\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m Aboriginal, I\u2019m a woman<\/span><\/p>\n

and I live with this HIV<\/span><\/p>\n

got a long-term support group<\/span><\/p>\n

bills are paid, home and stable partner<\/span><\/p>\n

if I wake up in the morning and I\u2019m still breathing<\/span><\/p>\n

then all is good<\/span><\/p>\n
