May 27, 2022 10:00 to 11:00 PST via Zoom
The Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health (IALH) hosts bi-monthly virtual Network Cafés for Post-Doctoral Fellows and Early Career Researchers who are conducting research on issues related to aging and/or lifelong health. The goals of the Network Café include assisting attendees to:
• obtain insights on academic, non-academic and hybrid career paths;
• build professional and personal networks; and
• develop and participate in collaborative research opportunities.
The May session features presenters who have chosen to work primarily in leadership roles in non-academic settings. The panelists include:
- Dwayne Green, Administrator, Board Director and Strategic Health Leader, Region of Peel

Dwayne Green considers himself a fortunate health leader who has an opportunity to do what they really care about, a chance to do meaningful work and to develop others who want to make a difference within their communities. Currently, he is working on approaches to the future of senior care, the future of work in long-term care, and psychological health and wellness in the workplace. He will focus on leadership transitions in long term care post COVID-19.
- Nancy Ondrusek, Director, Research and Ethics, Public Health Ontario

Nancy Ondrusek oversees the Research and Ethics Services Team at Public Health Ontario, providing leadership for the development, implementation and management of research and ethics policies, practices, products and services. She leads the Ethics team in providing ethics review services and capacity building support to public health units across Ontario. Nancy will speak about her experiences combining academic and administrative work throughout her career and her path to a leadership role at Public Health Ontario.
