This week we began work on our gallery by focusing on our introduction to the gallery and linen section.
- This is where we give an overview of what our exhibition will entail as well as the main theme:
- Use and production of linen
- A summary of the Battle of Hastings
- An overview of the Bayeux Tapestry
- The use of clothing during this context
The section on linen will look at:
- The production/origin of linen in Medieval England
- Its uses in the households (clothing, bedding, hygiene)
- Its uses in both the middle ages and present day
