ASL Planting Lesson Plan Scorecard

NIS Technical Scorecard: ASL Planting Adventure

This scorecard transposes the qualitative experience of the ASL Planting Lesson Plan into the quantitative dimensions of the Neurodivergent Interaction Scale (NIS). By applying psychometric math, we move from “teaching a lesson” to “validating a sovereign interaction.”

NIS DimensionBiological HeuristicLesson Plan Application (ASL/Math)Technical Requirement (The “Must-Have”)
Communicative AutonomyCan I express my logic without “social noise”?Students sign the “Plant/Grow” cycle without being forced to use spoken “scripts.”Low-Latency Capture: System must recognize visual-gestural syntax as primary data.
Relational StabilityIs my partner (robot/teacher) consistent?Using the Math Continuum (Day 1, Day 2) to provide a predictable, logical sequence.Temporal Consistency: The environment must remain stable and follow “if/then” logical rules.
Affective RecognitionIs my internal state (focus) understood?Recognizing “Concentration Apnea” or “Softening Shoulders” as a student watches a seed.Biometric Sensitivity: Interpret somatic anchors (body language) as engagement markers.
Identification & PrivacyCan I “unmask” and be my authentic self? The “Share Your Plant” phase—where “messy” or “outside the lines” growth is celebrated.Zero-Rank Sanctuary: A space where “non-normative” expression is the baseline, not the error.

The Psychometric Validation

To ensure this lesson plan is truly “all-encompassing,” we apply the math you highlighted:

  • Cronbach’s Alpha ($\alpha$): We survey students on their “Comfort” and “Understanding.” If $\alpha > 0.85$, we have mathematically proven that the ASL-Math integration is creating a cohesive, reliable internal experience for the child.
  • Factor Analysis: We map the students’ responses. We expect to see high “Factor Loadings” on Cognitive Independence. This proves that by using ASL and Math, the student is successfully “Drawing Outside the Box” and building a new, valid data cluster of intelligence.

Next Step

Generate a Sovereign Progress Report template that a teacher could use to track these NIS dimensions alongside the standard Ontario Math grades.
