Tips for Staying Safe:
- Never leave your items alone in a public space.
- When you go out, plan ahead. Know where you are going and how to get there.
- If someone is bothering you, don’t worry about their feelings — tell them to stop!
- When you go out at night, go with friends.
- You can always ask Canadian police for help — they are friendly and professional.
- In an emergency, call 9-1-1.
- Be aware of scams. People may try to trick you into giving them your money or personal information. Before you react: Stop, wait and speak to someone you trust before transferring any money. Do your research to make sure the request is not a scam.
