Mitacs is a non-for-profit company devoted to putting government money into science and research programs, specifically in the field of mathematical sciences. Their goal in doing so is to stimulate the development of technical industry. The Mitacs Accelerate Program is specifically designed to help graduate students quickly and seamlessly transition from research to industry through funding and support. For every dollar the Engineering Entrepreneurship@UVic Program earns from an industrial partner, Mitacs supplies another. Without Mitacs’ continued support, this program would likely not be the success it is today.
