Torben completed his Masters of Engineering in 2011 as part of an entrepreneurial engineering masters program at the University of Victoria. After completing the academic portion of the program, Torben co-founded Referral SaaSquatch and continues to serve there as Chief Technology Officer. In his role at Referral SaaSquatch, Torben is responsible for managing a distributed development team and architecting the SaaSquatch platform. When he’s not at work, Torben can be found paddling through an archipelago or hiking over a mountain while his team tries to raise a fund to get him a satellite data connection.
Torben grew up rural on a small Gulf Island (Hornby Island) for most of his life. He studied at UVic, completing a BSEng in 2009 and MEng in 2011. Technologies that he loves to work with include: Android, Play, Java/Python, Raspberry Pi, Mongo, SQL, REST, AWS.
Technology focus: Distributed applications, software architecture, data management.
