The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) offers a wage subsidy program for First Nation and Intuit organizations to provide work experiences and on-the-job training for youth. The CMHC subsidy covers vacation pay, Employment Insurance, pension plan and workers’ compensation costs. The organization sponsoring the youth must cover the at least minimum wage cost relative to the area.
