“Stories and their tellers: Curating living knowledge for a decolonised, gender just future” took place at the University of Arts London from 3–5 June 2024. Over three days, participants from Austria, Canada, Croatia, England, Germany, Serbia, and Netherlands and Costa Rica (both online) came together to share diverse storytelling practices in museums, heritage sties and archives. Central to the workshop was a performances presentation by Iriquois/Mohawk artist-activist Lindsay Delaronde and participation in the Iroquois Women’s Shuffle Dance in the university quad. Another important feature was a visit to the exhibition Now you see us: Women artists in Britain 1520-1920 curated at Tate Britain. The workshop concluded with a debriefing of the visit and ideas for future meetings and publications. A video was made from our time together.
