There are different holidays\/environment days\/celebrations throughout the year that students engage in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are some examples of these – https:\/\/sites.ontariotechu.ca\/sustainability\/initiatives\/in-the-community\/environmental-days.php<\/mark><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Learners also have a choice to select days that do not pertain to the environment but incorporate ideas of climate change in other aspects of the school calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In groups, you will plan a school day for your class that is filled with activities, sessions, plans, conversations that educates your classroom about climate change based on the day that they choose that will educate learners about the day, the intention, the reason from an interdisciplinary perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The intention is for people in the group to assume role of teachers of different subjects\/student groups in a school calendar day and then come together to plan their individual lesson\/class activities around the environment day of their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guiding ideas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Groups will create a school day plan that will incorporate elements of the learning that we have engaged in throughout the modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The school day plan will then be presented to the peers in classroom and peer review feedback will be given on the plans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Planning a school day Based on the previous discussion around Breaking Out of the silos and initial ideas about incorporating climate change in classrooms, learners will be building on these … Continue reading Schools for Environment<\/span> \n
