How can positive and negative experiences modulate our brain and behavior? For example, think about negative experiences like early stress and positive habits like an active lifestyle! If a more active lifestyle is beneficial for the brain, could it act as a protective factor against a neurodegenerative disease such as Huntington’s disease? On the other hand, could early stress alter the brain to the point of increasing the chances of addiction in the future? Questions like these are difficult to answer by studying humans because each individual’s genetics and experience are unique. However, in the laboratory, genetics and environment can be controlled and then we can answer questions like these and draw parallels with what happens to humans!

OTHER

A fun fact about me: Be careful with me driving a car, I’m a terrible driver! I once went to pick up my boyfriend from his internship and, when parking, I mistook the brake for the accelerator. What was the result? I broke a beautiful flower vase. My boyfriend, who was still inside the building, didn’t see anything but he heard the noise and thought “I think my girlfriend just got here”. He was right!

My hobbies include: Reading, travel, hiking, watch series and movies.
