Peter and Ana Lowens Fellowship

Applications are open for the first annual Peter and Ana Lowens University of Victoria Libraries Special Collections Fellowship Program. UVic Libraries invites UVic undergraduate and graduate students from any academic background to apply as Fellows in Special Collections. Fellows have an opportunity to pursue an independent research projects using the collections.

Application Deadline: November 15, 2021

Program Dates: Spring Semester 2022

Application Requirements: Please submit a 500 word proposal on a project you would undertake using materials from Special Collections. The program welcomes outward, public facing projects, including exhibitions, podcasts, lectures, and finding aids. For more details see here.

UVic students are invited to apply as Fellows with the goal of undertaking a research or creative project using collections from UVic Libraries Special Collections. Student fellows will benefit from workshops grounding their research in archival theory, book history, and digital methods, as well as mentorship and support from librarians, archivists, and faculty. Research and creative outputs will be launched at a public event in May 2022. Fellows will be awarded $1,000.
