The Dave T\u00e4ht Memorial Testbed of Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast Low-Earth-Orbit Satellite Networks<\/strong> (CCCLEO)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Dave Taht<\/a> and his work have influenced a lot of people and products used by even more people around the world, so for this testbed during its initial planning and proposal stage. In addition to his insightful feedback and advice, Dave even wanted to generously donate his Starlink user terminal from his boat to the testbed. Unfortunately, Dave passed away on the same day (April 1, 2025) when the testbed was notified to be funded by NSERC. In honor of Dave and also his many contributions to the networking researcher and practitioner communities, and with the consent of his family, we have renamed the testbed to “the Dave Taht Memorial Testbed of Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast Low-Earth-Orbit Satellite Networks” (shortened as cccleo), officially from April 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with external collaborators worldwide, we also have active access to more than 30 Starlink dishes in total six continents. We are in the active development of a distributed research platform open for LEO network researchers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research datasets<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We have accumulated nearly 20 TB of raw measurement data of LEO network latency measurement since 2023, and have been regularly publishing monthly snapshots to the research community. Our existing dataset snapshots uploaded on Zenodo.org have already been downloaded over 6,000 times by LEO network researchers worldwide.
With the sponsorship of Digital Research Alliance of Canada<\/a> for the computing and storage infrastructure, we have revamped the dataset collection and storage pipeline. The new dataset now also includes relavant diagnostic metrics from the Starlink dish gRPC interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
