On April 29th 2025, part of our BPiBS project team had the opportunity to participate in the Contractors Forum 2025, hosted by the Home Performance Stakeholder Council at the Vancouver Island Conference Center in Nanaimo.
The event brought together professionals and change-makers in the retrofit and home performance industry, from energy advisors and HVAC contractors to policy makers and training providers. The day was packed with insightful presentations and breakout sessions on HVAC updates, CSA F280 requirements, window and insulation best practices, and the future of energy labelling and rebate programs across BC.
We especially appreciated the deep dives into evolving practices around heat pumps and how retrofitting ties into broader sustainability goals, including valuable in person conversations with representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions BC. These new connections are already sparking ideas for future listening sessions with industry representatives.
The forum was a great reminder of how vital collaboration is in building cross-industry alignment, and we’re excited to carry the new insights and relationships forward in our BPiBS work.
