WEBINAR: Using Visual Facilitation for Community Engagement and Organizational Development

Students and alumni are invited to attend an online webinar presented by Susana Guardado who is an MACD alumna.

Topic: Using Visual Facilitation for Community Engagement and Organizational Development

Background:  Visuals are a powerful way of communicating ideas. In fact, research shows that images are processed 60,000 times faster than text. When visuals are combined with text it engages both the left, logical, analytical side of the brain and the right, creative, emotional, and intuitive side of the brain.

Susana Guardado, MACD 2017, uses Visual Facilitation as a tool for community engagement and organizational development processes.   For more information, see: https://www.brightlightideas.ca/packages/

Come learn how this form of facilitation can be used in research, evaluation, program development, and group processes.

Youth and cannabis: Does legal mean safe?
Monday, March 4, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Cornett Building (Room A120), University of Victoria

To a young person, Canada’s move to legalize cannabis may look like an endorsement of a “safe” drug. This series of presentations will look at both long-standing research on the effects of cannabis on youth, as well as recent studies on the impacts of legalization on use patterns among young people. What are the many myths associated with cannabis and how can parents, teachers and youth-serving agencies talk about cannabis effectively with youth populations?

Host: Frederick Grouzet, Department of Psychology and Centre for Youth and Society

Presenters: Bonnie Leadbeater, Paweena Sukhawathanakul, Megan Ames and Frederick Grouzet (Department of Psychology)
