Virtual International Opportunities Fair – Nov 16-20

 

Dear Students,

Are you interested in going abroad during your time at UVic? Do you want to learn how you can enhance your degree with an incredible international experience? Join us from November 16th-20th for a week-long Virtual Fair to learn about all of the International Opportunities available to you as a UVic student.

Throughout the week, there will be different live sessions from International Student Services, International Co-op, and various UVic departments. There are also a number of pre-recorded sessions from UVic departments and our partner universities. Visit www.uvic.ca/iof for more information!

West Coast Virtual Career Fair – November 17 and 18

Meet employers and make connections at the West Coast Virtual Career Fair on November 17 + 18


Curious about where your degree can take you? Connect with employers, graduate schools, volunteer organizations and professional programs to explore your options at the Wester Coast Virtual Career Fair. Hosted by the University of Victoria, University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Frasier University (SFU), you can network with exhibitors from around the world and learn about work and co-op opportunities as well as graduate and professional programs.

When: Tuesday, November 17 and Wednesday, November 18 from 9am – 6pm

Where: Virtual Event

Plus, you can attend a workshop hosted by a Career Educator to help you prepare for the fair.

There are two available sessions at this time:

  • How to prepare for the West Coast Virtual Career Fair

 

  • Tuesday Nov. 10th, 12:00pm – 1:00 pm

WEBINAR: Funding Opportunities in Germany for Students in the Natural Sciences and Engineering

Thursday, November 12, 2020 – 12:00 – 1:00 pm (EST)

Join DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service on November 12, 2020 from noon to 1 pm (EST) for a webinar presenting information on our scholarship and grant programs open to students in the Natural Sciences and Engineering at Canadian or US universities.

We’ll provide details on our programs supporting study, research and internships (including our popular RISE programs) in Germany in 2021-22.

DAAD has programs to support students at all stages of study (Bachelor, Master’s, PhD) and no knowledge of German is required.

Communication Assistant Needed for the McPherson Library

The McPherson Library is looking for a Communications Assistant to work in the library Communications Office. While their wish list for qualifications is extensive (i.e. graphics and video editing desirable), these skills are not a must.

Students interested in a communications role, who qualify for the work study program, should look at the posting.

Online In-course Scholarship Application Now Open!

The in-course scholarship online application for students currently attending UVic is open from April 1st – May 31st, 2020. In order to apply for these scholarships, students must complete and submit the

in-course scholarship application, available through their My Page. Scholarships and awards that require applications ask for students to submit an online (or paper) application as well as supporting documentation. Any supporting documentation required must be submitted by email to incourse@uvic.ca. Please include your full name and student number in the subject line when submitting any documentation.
