Volunteer with the UVic Global Community

Volunteer with the UVic Global Community! The UVic Global Community is looking for Undergraduate and Graduate Conversation Partners and Mentors for the 2024-2025 Academic Year (September 2024 – April 2025) who want to help build an inclusive, globally-minded campus and support international students with their social and academic transition to UVic. Global Community Volunteers are matched with up to three students and meet with their student(s) for a minimum of 1 hour every week throughout the term to encourage students to get involved in the UVic community and build confidence in conversational English, all while making connections with people from around the world. Jumpstart Your Job Search!

At Co-op and Career Services, Jumpstart Your Job Search is now underway!

In this year’s career workshop series, we’re teaching the latest and greatest tools and tips to help students and alum find a job they love, no matter where they are in their journey.

Online from 12-1 p.m. this week, we’re running:

  • March 11: Jumpstart your job search with AI (artificial intelligence) > How to make searching fast and easy with AI
  • March 12: Writing smart résumés using AI > Leveraging the power of AI to build a successful résumé
  • March 13: Networking, even if it scares you > Finding jobs that aren’t necessarily advertised, plus simple, friendly networking strategies
  • March 14: Ace your interviews using the AI edge > Interview prep with AI and how to make a good impression
  • March 15: Preparing for a virtual career fair > What a career fair is, why companies participate and how to make the most of it
