Professor Maydianne Andrade is a recognized leader in the study of evolution and ecology. Her specialty is in understanding the origins of diverse and sometimes bizarre behavioural and reproductive adaptations of animals—especially spiders—in response to changing and unpredictable environmental challenges. Dr. Andrade’s prowess is matched only by her gifts in scientific communication. She is a sought-after speaker, and her work has been featured frequently in the media, including on CBC’s ‘The Nature of Things.’
