Rhodes Scholarship applications open June 1

Rhodes Scholarships support students to complete a graduate program (or second undergraduate program) at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.  Funding includes course fees, an annual stipend, a settling in allowance, and two economy class flights for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.  A variety of programs are supported (e.g., 1- or 2-year master’s, second undergraduate, or 3-year doctoral program).  Rhodes Scholarships are open to domestic and international students with a minimum GPA of 8.0 who meet the eligibility criteria set out by the Rhodes Trust.

Important note:  Rhodes scholarships have different eligibility criteria, application instructions, and deadlines for each constituency.  Visit the Faculty of Graduate Studies Rhodes Scholarship page for application instructions and more information.  Applicants to the Canada, United States, and Global constituencies must provide a copy of their complete application to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by the UVic internal deadline in order to be considered for an endorsement (nomination) from UVic.

AUC Medical School – Dinner Event with Doctors on June 22 in Victoria

This is a chance to chat over a meal—our treat!—with a practicing physician who has been through our MD program, and ask questions in person.

Our in-person event will be held on June 22nd at 7PM at Zambri’s Restaurant (820 Yates St, Victoria, B8W 1L8).

The students will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn what it’s like to live and learn as a med student, including the rigors of the curriculum, clubs and activities, housing, and more
  • Find out more about the residency matching process and pursuing a specialty
  • Get tips for applying to med school and standing out in your interview

MCAT Week (Free Events for Students!) | The Princeton Review

Virtual MCAT Week is coming up in May and we’re hoping to see you there!

We’ll be hosting free 1-hour sessions during the week of May 1st, where Princeton Review expert instructors will break down the MCAT for you – each day a different section! You’ll have the chance to go through some sample questions and figure out the best ways to approach the different sections of the MCAT!

BONUS: we’ll be hosting an MMI Information Session on May 8th for those interested in learning more about MMI and engaging in mock interviews with a counselor.
