Interested in co-op? Apply today!

Welcome back to UVic! What if you could take what you love learning in class and try it out in the workplace before you graduate? Did you know that you can gain relevant paid work experience during your degree? Join co-op and get a head start on your career goals!

Join co-op today!

UVic’s Co-operative Education Program (co-op) is an academic program that lets you alternate study terms with terms working for employers in your field of study. It’s a great way to gain experience relevant to your degree and discover what you love; get paid over the course of your degree; and test different careers while building a standout résumé.

70% of UVic co-op students receive a job offer before they graduate – it gives you a huge head start.

Worried that you’re too late in your degree to join co-op? The Work Experience Program (WEP) is a great option. WEP is very similar to co-op, but is shorter and more flexible.

Your deadline is coming up!

Science students must apply to co-op by September 15, find out how here.

Want to chat about co-op? Register for the upcoming Co-op and Career Info Day: Science Co-op info session on September 13, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Get career support and explore opportunities beyond co-op

Co-op isn’t the only way to bring your learning to life—there are hands-on learning opportunities available in your program including field experience, research and community projects.  You can also develop your skills with extra-curricular learning by volunteering, working part-time, or participating in your academic department. Check out your options and start getting involved!

Don’t wait until the last year of your degree to start developing the skills for a meaningful future career. Connect with our career support team or attend a career workshop as you explore opportunities and search for work.

CUCOH 2022/2023 External Ambassador Hiring

CUCOH is a three-day student-run conference at Queen’s University. It is the largest student-run health conference in Canada. CUCOH exposes undergraduate students to a wide array of professions in the healthcare industry through inspiring keynotes, engaging case challenges, interactive workshops and a research competition that showcases the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare. This year, the conference is focused on delivering a holistic, environmentally friendly, and inclusive experience for all delegates in an in-person setting.

In order to effectively promote our conference to different Canadian and American Universities, we seek to hire external ambassadors to help. An external ambassador’s role is to raise awareness for CUCOH on their own campus, and bring in delegates for the conference. This is a volunteer position, however it does come with the added benefit of $5 off their own registration fee for the conference per each delegate recruited (up to a maximum of $75 off). We accept external ambassadors on a rolling basis.

CUCOH presents an unparalleled opportunity for students studying the sciences to receive a cohesive overview of the current state of Canadian healthcare and explore specific areas of future change. We hope that you would be interested in sending an email announcement to the students in your faculty to help us in our efforts to broaden the scope of this year’s conference!
