After graduating, in 2003, I moved to Kuwait for four\u00a0years to work at an international school and travel. Since returning to BC, I’ve been working\u00a0at Bodwell High School in North Vancouver, where I’ve been teaching PE, Health and Career Education, Social Studies,\u00a0and Foods and Nutrition.\u00a0Besides\u00a0my classroom duties\u00a0I’ve been involved with a number of co-curricular activities, such as Outdoor Ed, and\u00a0coaching a number of sports, including: skiing, basketball, badminton and soccer. I’ve also been busy completing a Masters degree from UBC in Educational Technology, which I hope to complete\u00a0this April. When I’m not working and studying,\u00a0I enjoy my time in Squamish where I live\u00a0with my husband and our dog, and love to travel whenever possible.<\/p>\n
I found that the UVic B.Ed program really prepared me well for the challenges and triumphs of being a teacher.\u00a0When I\u00a0speak to other teachers about their teacher training, I feel that the UVic program provided a variety of great learning and teaching experiences, compared to other programs.<\/p>\n
